Pioneering Improvising reedsman FRODE GJERSTAD! has been active in

 Adventurous new music for 40 years playing with such innovators as 

Derek Bailey, John Stevens, William Parker, Johnny Mbizo Dyani, Rashid Bakr,

 Hamid Drake, Peter Brotzmann. This is his first visit to Aotearoa!

PAAL NILSSEN-LOVE toured NZ last year as drummer with awesome power trio

 THE THING. He is Norways leading modern drummer and collaborates 

regularly with Mats Gustaffson, Peter Brotzmann, Neneh Cherry, Sten Standell, 

Lasse Marhaug and Ingebrigt Haker-Flaten.

Jon Rune Strøm is one of Norways leading young double bass players, this is 

his first visit!

 playing outrageous versions of songs by Albert Ayler, warped Salvation Army

 hymns and original compositions.

knotty and plucky!

HERMIONE JOHNSON explodes the possibilities of the acoustic piano

JEFF HENDERSON draws energy up through every orifice to expel down long

 saxophonic tubing.

KRISTIAN LARSEN is a deep thinking improvising dancer,

 a pioneering spontaneous mover

ZAHRA KILLEEN-CHANCE leaps into cosmic voids and 

shape changes against walls

STEPHEN BAIN constantly delights and surprises with 

thoughtful theatrical provocations and videovisual vestiges.

Future Hotel is Stephen Bain and Nisha Madhan - theatre makers, street performers, performance artists, curators, instigators...two vital and impassioned artists who are presenting an exploration into intimate questions...

and Da Buzzy Beez...Queen Bee Hermione Johnbee, King Beez Colin Woodsbee, Joshua Rutterbee, Andrew McMillbee and Jeff Henderbee play electronic squangdanglefizz..you can dance if you wanna.
